About the Team

The Global Operational Intelligence Group focuses on turning manufacturing data into practical insights that improve factory performance and support the delivery of high-quality hard disk drive solutions. The team’s work centers on accelerating digital transformation and operational intelligence by using analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to improve efficiency and create new business value.

Role Overview

• Partner with experienced data scientists to translate business and engineering problems into clearly defined AI use cases, with emphasis on anomaly detection and root cause analysis for manufacturing systems and capacity planning controls.
• Use advanced data science methods such as time-series foundation models for machine sensor anomaly detection, causal AI for root cause analysis, and AI-based optimization and reasoning to model factory behavior and support resilient, data-led decisions.
• Develop scalable data and AI solutions for large manufacturing datasets using Python, modern AI/ML techniques, and enterprise analytics tools, with a focus on dependable, production-ready outputs in live operational settings.

Experience and Technical Background

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline is expected.
• Hands-on exposure to AI/ML work in industrial settings is important, especially projects involving tabular data, time-series data, and computer vision.
• Python proficiency is required, along with familiarity with model development and tools such as Polars, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, Optuna, DoWhy, PyMC, SciPy, Google OR-Tools, evolutionary algorithms, Mesa, OctoTools, and OpenEvolve.

Work Location

This opportunity is based at the Woodlands site in Singapore, one of the company’s largest electronics manufacturing locations. The site spans three areas and is easy to reach by bus or MRT. Employees also have access to meals throughout the day, an on-site canteen and coffee shop, an in-house gym, a dance studio, and recreational activities such as badminton and table tennis. Community celebrations and volunteer activities are also part of the workplace culture.
