About the role

We are seeking senior-level data scientists with strong training in machine learning, statistical inference, and data engineering to help assess and improve advanced AI systems. In this contract position, you will build challenging data science tasks, verify model outputs, and surface weaknesses in reasoning so the models can be refined more effectively.

This is a remote, flexible engagement intended for candidates at the Master’s or PhD level who are interested in highly analytical work that can be completed on their own schedule.

Key responsibilities

Build advanced, domain-focused data science challenges that test areas such as hyperparameter tuning, Bayesian methods, cross-validation, dimensionality reduction, and similar topics.
Create accurate reference solutions with clear step-by-step reasoning, including Python or R code, SQL, and mathematical derivations.
Review AI-generated code and responses for correctness, efficiency, and statistical validity using tools such as Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
Spot and explain reasoning errors such as data leakage, overfitting, mishandling of imbalanced datasets, or incorrect statistical interpretations, then provide structured feedback.
Complete assignments independently and asynchronously without a fixed schedule.

Candidate profile

You should be pursuing or already hold a Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field with substantial data analysis focus. Strong grounding in supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, statistical inference, and model evaluation is important, along with the ability to explain technical ideas precisely in writing. Attention to detail, self-direction, and reliability while working independently are essential. Previous AI training or annotation experience is not required.

Preferred experience

Exposure to big data tools such as Spark or Hadoop.
Hands-on experience with NLP or evaluating large-scale models.
Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD practices for machine learning, or production data science workflows.
Background in data annotation, data quality assurance, or evaluation systems.
