Electrical/ Controls/ Robotics Engineer

Role overview

Larsen & Toubro is looking for a driven Electrical Engineer to contribute to its AUV Design Team. The position focuses on owning the complete electrical architecture for autonomous underwater vehicle systems, from concept through integration.

Core technical scope

The role covers design and implementation of power systems, battery integration, propulsion drive systems, and actuator control solutions. It also involves working with marine and mobility-grade electrical architectures and power distribution networks.

Systems and communication expertise

The selected engineer should be comfortable with motor controllers, sensor-actuator feedback loops, and onboard communication technologies. Practical knowledge of acoustic modems, SATCOM, RF systems, and internal networking standards such as Ethernet, CAN, and RS485 is needed.

Standards, reliability, and compliance

This role requires exposure to marine and defence standards such as MIL-STD and IEC. The engineer must also understand environmental hardening practices, including subsea connectors, cabling, and EMI/EMC compliance.

Engineering responsibilities

The role includes system requirement engineering, creating functional and logical architecture diagrams, allocating architecture across subsystems, and supporting system integration. Experience in safety engineering, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and fail-safe design is important for building dependable mission-ready AUV platforms.
