Role summary

The electrical supervisor will lead and monitor electrical installation work at substations, with responsibility for allocating resources properly, tracking team progress, and ensuring work is completed safely and to standard.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quantity estimates for electrical and mechanical materials needed for the job.
• Plan work effectively, make sure manpower is used efficiently, and keep track of progress against the schedule.
• Allocate labor and materials in a way that helps control and optimize the approved budget.
• Run daily toolbox talks covering work methods, tools for the day, safety precautions, and how to respond to hazardous situations.
• Use the correct drawings and site documentation during execution, and record any drawing updates or changes.
• Oversee the output of team members and make sure the final work meets quality expectations.
• Support supervisors by sharing inputs during planning and review discussions.
• Compile and submit a daily progress report.

Required profile

The role calls for a candidate with a vocational or advanced vocational diploma in electrical studies from a recognized institution.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a power distribution or transmission company is required, including 1 to 2 years in a supervisory position. The candidate should have hands-on experience in electrical installation, managing manpower, and using the hand tools and machines needed for the work.

Strong listening and verbal communication ability is important, along with consistent observance of safety rules at the worksite and familiarity with the tools and equipment used to deliver effective results.
