About Apptegy

Apptegy is a technology company focused on helping schools communicate better and strengthen how education shapes the future. The company works alongside school districts to help them tell their stories, connect with their communities, and highlight student achievement. It offers a collaborative, high-performing environment with strong mentorship and resources for professional growth.

Role Overview

Apptegy is hiring a Financial Analyst to support financial clarity and better decision-making across the business. This Finance team role partners with leaders in Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and Operations to provide insights that guide investment, growth, and scaling decisions.

This is a highly visible individual contributor position for someone who can turn complex financial and operational data into practical business insights. You will lead important planning and analysis processes, contribute to forecasting and performance management, and help create scalable, automated finance workflows using AI tools and modern planning software.

What You Will Do

  • Lead major parts of the planning cycle, including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range plans.
  • Create and maintain financial models covering revenue, operating expenses, and headcount.
  • Build scenarios to assess trade-offs among growth, profitability, and investment.
  • Prepare and lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with clear variance and trend commentary for leadership.
  • Review financial performance and SaaS metrics such as revenue, pipeline, retention, and customer growth to uncover patterns, risks, and opportunities.
  • Convert complex data into clear recommendations for senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to department leaders and go-to-market teams on initiatives, resource allocation, and growth opportunities.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and scenario modeling for important projects such as pricing, new product investments, and operational improvements.
  • Improve and maintain core models, dashboards, and reporting structures so decisions can be made faster and more accurately.
  • Implement and refine FP&A systems and tools, including platforms like Pigment, to reduce manual work.
  • Design automated, AI-enabled reporting and processes that improve speed, accuracy, and data quality.
  • Prepare concise leadership and board materials and help evolve planning processes as the company scales.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, corporate finance, or a similar analytical function.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets modeling skills, including scenario analysis and work with large datasets.
  • Experience using AI tools, automation, or scripting such as Python, VBA/macros, Google Apps Script, or similar methods to streamline finance work.
  • Strong ability to turn complex information into practical insights and recommendations.
  • Experience working across teams and influencing business decisions through financial analysis.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in SaaS or subscription businesses, with familiarity in recurring revenue metrics such as ARR, retention, LTV/CAC, and payback.
  • Experience in a fast-growing company where systems and processes are still evolving.
  • Interest in or experience with generative AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Glean, or Copilot to speed up analysis, automate work, or improve reporting.
  • Exposure to FP&A platforms such as Pigment, Anaplan, Adaptive, or Planful.
  • Experience with ERP or CRM systems such as NetSuite or Salesforce.
  • Comfort with BI tools or querying data using SQL, Looker, Tableau, or similar tools.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $100,000 per year.

Benefits

US-based employees receive comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401(k) with employer match, HSA and FSA options, mental health reimbursement, unlimited paid time off including a company-wide seasonal break in December, and paid parental and medical leave.

Mexico-based employees receive private medical insurance for themselves and dependents, life insurance, 15 days of Aguinaldo, Vales de Despensa, Fondo de Ahorro, Caja de Ahorro, flexible paid time off, and paid travel to and from Little Rock, Arkansas for onboarding.
