Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

Overview

A leading contractor in build and civil works is expanding and looking for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join its team in Limerick. The position will support a range of residential and life sciences projects and offers a strong opportunity for a career-focused professional to grow with a business that is winning new work and building a healthy project pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the commercial management of projects from start to finish, helping ensure delivery across all financial and contractual aspects.
• Assist with procurement activities, including appointing and managing specialist trade packages, subcontractors, and suppliers through to final account settlement.
• Prepare monthly progress accounts with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Help produce and review interim and final valuations to support progress payments.
• Work with project teams to spot risks early and reduce the chance of cost overruns.
• Provide occasional support to the pre-construction team in tender preparation and submission.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal project teams and other stakeholders.
• Keep up to date with current industry practices, regulations, and other relevant changes.
• Respond to additional reporting or administrative requests from the line manager as needed.

Requirements

• A Level 8 qualification in Quantity Surveying is mandatory.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a comparable role with a main contractor or subcontractor.
• Strong IT capability, including confidence using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with Buildsoft, Cubit, or Bluebeam would be an advantage, though training can be provided.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a proven ability to work well with a broad range of people.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Good numerical ability and strong analytical thinking.
• High level of accuracy, especially in measurement work and detail checking.
• Well organised with effective time management skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work to demanding deadlines.
• Solid understanding of the construction sector and site-based working.
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a pressured environment.

Compensation

The salary range is approximately €65,000 to €75,000, depending on experience. A benefits package is also included.
