Junior Data Analyst

Role Overview

An opportunity is available for an early-career Junior Data Analyst to join a growing team in Cork. This onsite position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data in Excel, interpreting business information, and contributing to improvements in reporting and operational processes. The role sits within a business environment where data is used to support both everyday decisions and longer-term planning.

Data Analysis and Reporting

• Gather, review, and interpret business data to help guide operational and strategic choices.
• Create and update reports in Microsoft Excel.
• Work with large datasets using advanced Excel tools such as Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and Power Query.
• Handle and analyse data sourced from SQL databases.
• Spot patterns, trends, and opportunities to improve processes.
• Contribute to the planned development and rollout of Power BI dashboards and reporting.

Technology Coordination

• Serve as the main onsite point of contact for everyday technology coordination.
• Work with an external IT support partner to help ensure requests are resolved efficiently.
• Help manage basic hardware needs and staff equipment requirements.
• Assist with onboarding users and completing technology-related admin tasks.
• Support ongoing improvements in business systems.

Essential Capabilities

• Solid command of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, formulas, and data handling.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Careful attention to detail.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Confidence working independently and balancing several priorities.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with SQL or SQL-based databases.
• Exposure to Power BI, or a clear interest in learning it.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
• Background in business reporting or operational data analysis.
• Experience liaising with external technology service providers.
