Role overview
This contract opportunity is for a Data Migration Test Analyst to support a major data transformation initiative in Melbourne. The assignment runs for 6 months on a daily rate basis and offers pay of up to $420 per day, inclusive of superannuation. You will be part of a significant project focused on moving data from legacy environments into a new platform with accuracy and control.
What you will do
- Check and verify data migration activities as information moves from source systems to target systems.
- Reconcile data sets and look into any data integrity or quality concerns.
- Use SQL to compare records, validate mapping or transformation logic, and confirm that migrated data is correct.
- Test ETL workflows and data movement across warehouse and reporting layers.
- Prepare test scenarios, run testing cycles, record defects, and help drive resolution.
- Partner with business analysts, developers, and data specialists to achieve reliable project outcomes.
What the employer is looking for
- Background as a Data Migration Test Analyst, Data QA professional, or Data Warehouse Tester.
- Strong SQL capability and experience working with large data volumes.
- Practical exposure to data migration testing, reconciliation, and ETL validation.
- Good understanding of data warehouses and modern data platform environments.
- Experience creating test cases, managing defects, and supporting full testing cycles.
- Comfort using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Postman.
