Operations Analyst

Role overview

This contract Operations Analyst position is based on-site in Alaska and centers on vendor execution. The role is responsible for strengthening day-to-day operating discipline, resolving issues, and keeping performance consistent. You will partner closely with on-site vendor teams, push for closure on agreed corrective actions, and keep stakeholders informed about performance trends, risks, and repeated problems.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with vendor teams to identify where execution is falling short, follow up on operational misses, and make sure corrective actions are completed.
• Coordinate with vendors, carriers, customer support, and internal teams to help maintain reliable operations.
• Influence external teams to follow standards and maintain execution discipline even without direct authority.
• Carry out regular on-site observations to verify how work is being executed and to improve visibility into operations.
• Track and communicate operational misses, recurring issues, and areas of risk clearly.

Required experience and qualifications

• Background working with vendors, operational partners, or cross-functional stakeholders to address execution problems.
• Experience in small parcel logistics, sortation, hub operations, or a comparable operations setting.
• Strong detail orientation and a structured approach to follow-through.
• Ability to recognize early warning signs of performance issues and process deviations before they grow.
• Practical judgment in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong analytical capability and effective problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience using advanced Excel features such as pivot tables and formulas, as well as AI tools such as ChatGPT.

Preferred background

Additional value will be given to candidates with experience in Lean Six Sigma, SQL, dangerous goods handling under IATA guidelines, export compliance controls, vendor management, export logistics, or cross-border logistics. Comfort working in a warehouse or hub setting and spending time on-site as needed is also preferred.

Compensation and employment details

The pay rate for this role is $35.00 to $36.00 per hour. This is a non-exempt position, so overtime is paid at 1.5 times the base hourly rate for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek, or as otherwise required by state or local law. Final compensation depends on relevant skills, education, and experience.
