QA Competent Assessor

About the role

This position focuses on independent system and software quality assurance for engineering projects. The goal is to give project teams and leadership clear visibility into whether deliverables meet the required quality targets, and whether day-to-day project activities follow the approved processes and plans.

The role involves strengthening quality and compliance across the software development lifecycle, helping define project quality plans, and ensuring the right reviews, audits, assessments, metrics, and goals are in place.

Key responsibilities

• Promote quality and compliance across the software development cycle.
• Help build project Quality Assurance Plans, including gate reviews, audits of work products, process assessments, and project quality objectives, KPIs, and metrics.
• Conduct and sign off Aptiv Product Development Process (PDP) gate reviews with project teams and leadership.
• Carry out process assessments and audits of deliverables.
• Perform Automotive SPICE capability assessments on projects.
• Record non-conformances and follow them through to closure.
• Make sure quality issues and corrective actions are resolved before release.
• Review and approve software deliveries, or stop a delivery when quality requirements are not met.
• Coordinate QA work in line with project schedules and plans.
• Share QA updates with SQA leadership.
• Escalate project quality concerns to SQA management when needed.
• Work with customers on reporting related to systems, software, and independent test and verification quality topics, as well as audit planning and action tracking.
• Ensure engineering teams follow the proper problem-solving process for software-related field issues.

Candidate background

Applicants should have experience in the automotive sector and preferably be Intacs-certified as an ASPICE Competent Assessor. The ideal profile includes 6 to 13 years of experience on engineering development teams in roles such as Systems Engineer or Software Engineer. Experience with configuration management and project management tools is also expected.

Candidates should be familiar with process maturity models such as Automotive SPICE and CMMI. Additional value is given to knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Automotive SPICE, ISO 15504, Functional Safety ISO 26262, Agile, Lean, and Six Sigma.

Eligibility

Only candidates with at least 7 years of experience can apply. The role also specifies Computer Science Engineering students as eligible applicants.

Compensation and other details
