Senior Google App Script Developer

Role overview

EPAM Systems is looking for an experienced Senior Google App Script Developer to streamline manual work and tackle technical problems for non-technical users across the supply chain function. In this position, you will work as both a hands-on developer and an automation guide, creating fast, practical solutions that connect with Google Workspace and help teams operate more efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Create tailored Google Apps Script automations that cut down repetitive manual work, lower input mistakes, and reduce time spent on routine tasks.
• Develop and support solutions that use Google Workspace APIs to close data gaps and improve workflow continuity.
• Implement custom functions, menus, buttons, and sidebars in Google Sheets to make everyday use more interactive and efficient.
• Build and launch standalone web applications and Workspace add-ons for specific business workflows.
• Integrate Apps Script projects with internal Google tools for analytics, issue tracking, and alerting or bot-based notifications.
• Write code that is clear, maintainable, thoroughly commented, and resilient, with basic error handling, testing, and useful logging.
• Serve as an automation mentor for non-coders within the organization.

Required profile

• 4 to 9 years of professional experience in software development.
• Deep hands-on experience with Google Apps Script and built-in services such as SpreadsheetApp, GmailApp, and DriveApp.
• Strong knowledge of API management and how to connect backend systems with user-facing interfaces.
• Working knowledge of SQL for retrieving and reporting on data.
• Exposure to Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, and Slides.
• Understanding of Gmail and Calendar integrations.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with AI/ML tools such as Document AI for digitization and LLM-based text generation.
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks such as React or Angular for building more advanced web app interfaces.
• Awareness of internal Google deployment tools such as Borg or Rapid.
