Architect Inspector

Role overview

HanmiGlobal Saudi Arabia is looking for an Architect Inspector to support its Project Management Consultancy team on a large residential development in Riyadh. In this role, you will oversee architectural construction activities to make sure the work follows approved drawings, technical specifications, quality expectations, project requirements, and relevant building regulations throughout the build process.

Primary duties

• Examine architectural installation and finishing works such as blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, doors, windows, joinery, and other architectural finishes.
• Assess contractor inspection requests and carry out site checks based on approved inspection and test plans.
• Confirm that installed materials match the approved submittals and project specifications.
• Track workmanship on site and ensure construction follows the approved methods of execution.
• Spot any non-compliant work and raise inspection comments and requests for corrective action.
• Re-check corrective measures before signing off completed work.
• Liaise with Resident Engineers, contractors, and other engineering teams to coordinate inspections.
• Take part in mock-up reviews and approvals for architectural finish samples.
• Keep precise inspection logs, reports, and photo records.
• Assist with quality audits and final project handover inspections.
• Maintain adherence to quality, HSE, and project governance standards.

Candidate profile

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
• Where applicable, the candidate should hold a valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in architectural inspection is needed.
• Background on large residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects is preferred.
• Experience working with PMC teams, engineering consultancies, or international contractors would be an advantage.
• Applicants should have a solid grasp of architectural finishes and construction quality expectations.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications is essential.
• Working knowledge of architectural materials, finishes, and installation techniques is expected.
• Familiarity with inspection workflows, ITPs, and QA/QC documentation is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is needed.
• Saudi Council of Engineers registration is preferred.
• QA/QC certifications will be considered a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, good reporting ability, clear communication, coordination skills, problem-solving ability, integrity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to quality and safety are important for this role.
