Job purpose
DP World Australia’s Fremantle Terminal is looking for a motivated Mechanical Plant Apprentice to begin an apprenticeship while building hands-on experience with advanced machinery and equipment that keeps global trade moving. This opportunity combines paid work with practical learning, giving you a strong foundation for a long-term career.
In this role, you will help maintain, repair, and service heavy plant equipment used in port and terminal operations. You will work in a busy, technology-driven environment while developing your mechanical trade qualification with guidance from an experienced team.
What the role involves
The apprentice will contribute to the upkeep and servicing of heavy equipment essential to terminal operations, supporting safe and efficient day-to-day work.

What we are looking for
- A person who is keen to learn while working
- Someone who is dependable, energetic, punctual, and has a strong sense of responsibility
- Good numerical ability and strong accuracy
- Comfort with physical work and working at heights, with safety always front of mind
- A current driver’s licence; a manual licence is preferred
Training and development
This apprenticeship includes personalised one-to-one mentoring, a mix of workplace learning, guidance from experienced staff, and classroom-based study. Successful completion leads to a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering - Fixed & Mobile Plant Mechanic.
