Role overview
Leonardo is hiring an experienced Multimedia Designer to produce compelling visual content that helps explain complex defence and aerospace products to audiences around the world. In this position, you will work as part of a creative team and report to the Head of Brand Creation. The role focuses on turning technical material into clear, engaging design across print, digital, and live/event environments.
This opportunity is well suited to a self-starting designer who pairs strong creative thinking with excellent delivery standards and who is comfortable working in a busy, security-aware setting. Your work will support marketing, business development, internal communications, exhibitions, and digital activity while maintaining a consistent brand presence across all channels.
What you will do
- Take ideas from early concept through to final production across multiple formats and channels.
- Convert technical and detailed briefs into visually effective communication pieces.
- Work closely with teams in marketing, business development, internal communications, and events.
- Apply brand and visual identity standards consistently across all outputs.
- Offer practical guidance to stakeholders on the best way to communicate ideas visually.
- Bring creative input to campaigns, exhibitions, and wider brand strategy.
- Spot ways to streamline creative workflows and improve how work moves through the team.
- Handle sensitive material carefully while maintaining accuracy, discretion, and professionalism.
- Represent the brand positively and help strengthen visual communication standards.
Typical deliverables
- Brochures and technical datasheets
- Event and exhibition graphics
- Social media and digital campaign artwork
- Infographics and web imagery
- Corporate presentation materials
Growth and innovation
In addition to core design delivery, you will help shape the development of the creative function, with scope to work on newer technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and real-time 3D.
Location and working style
This is a hybrid position based in Yeovil, England, United Kingdom, with the primary site listed as GB - Yeovil - Lysander Rd. The contract type is permanent.
Pay and salary framework
The role sits within a salary band of £40,000 to £50,000. Leonardo UK uses a grade-based pay structure, and the range shown reflects the approved band or a narrower hiring range within it. Any pay above the standard range is handled through formal governance controls to support internal fairness.
Security screening
This position is subject to pre-employment screening under the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional National Security Vetting measures may also apply, which could include eligibility for Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV). The role requires eligibility for UK Security Clearance.
What we are looking for
You should have a degree, or equivalent experience, in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, or a similar discipline. A strong portfolio showing both original thinking and polished execution across print and digital work is essential. Strong capability with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, is also needed.
You will need solid presentation and communication skills so you can explain and defend design choices clearly, plus the ability to take a brief and shape it into a practical creative solution. The employer welcomes applicants even if they do not meet every requirement, as attitude and willingness to learn are considered especially important.
