Network Security Firewall Administration

Role overview

This position is for a Network Security professional focused on firewall administration and security management at Tata Consultancy Services in Chennai. The role calls for strong hands-on experience across enterprise firewall platforms, data center networking, and perimeter protection technologies.

Key technical responsibilities

• Carry out installation, setup, administration, and troubleshooting for Palo Alto firewalls.
• Manage and support Fortinet, Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA, and Meraki MX deployments, including configuration and day-to-day operations.
• Handle checkpoint firewall administration for perimeter security environments.
• Support F5 load balancer administration and troubleshooting in a DCLAN setup.
• Work with Zscaler proxy solutions and perimeter security tools.
• Provide support for Aruba ClearPass solutions.
• Apply networking knowledge across BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SPT, trunks, VLANs, port-channels, and static routing.
• Operate in environments involving MPLS, VRF, VPN, traffic shaping/QoS, and related network routing technologies.
• Use Palo Alto and Cisco command-line tools for configuration and support tasks.
• Contribute to datacenter networking activities, including Cisco product and technology support.
• Assist with the installation of Cisco and HP networking equipment.

Experience and capability expectations

• Bring 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in network security and firewall administration.
• Have at least 4 years of experience in the datacenter networking domain.
• Understand how to prioritize work and allocate resources according to operational and client requirements.
• Review functional and technical designs to spot risks or missing requirements.
• Demonstrate solid networking fundamentals and a clear understanding of security architecture.
• Be comfortable supporting an ITI-based team operating in a 24x7 support model.
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE 7-8) certification is preferred.
• CCNP certification or a higher credential is preferred.
