Operations Labourer

Position overview

The Operations Labourer role supports safe and efficient day-to-day work at a hauling company, transfer station, recycling center, or landfill. The job centers on general site labour, vehicle and equipment support, yard upkeep, and basic maintenance tasks.

What you will do

• Keep work areas tidy and organized.
• Refuel vehicles and equipment as needed.
• Clean tracks on track-type machines and related equipment.
• Carry out yard maintenance such as mowing and picking up paper and debris.
• Operate common site vehicles and equipment, including water trucks, pickup trucks, sweepers, mowers, and trimming tools.
• Handle routine office upkeep and minor repairs, including painting and janitorial work.
• Set up temporary wind fences when required.
• Help direct traffic on site when needed.
• Take on other related duties assigned by the company.

Preferred profile

• Experience or familiarity with landscaping work and landscaping equipment is an advantage.
• Ability to use hand tools, shop tools, and measuring or support instruments effectively.
• Strong attention to detail, with a careful and thorough work style.
• Ability to manage priorities, stay on task, and balance several different responsibilities at once.
