About the Role
AB InBev Africa is seeking an ambitious and resilient professional to take on a technical operations role in Dar es Salaam. The position is centered on safely running and supporting defined Technical Services plants and related processes to help achieve strong operational performance. Key Purpose
The main objective of this job is to operate and maintain designated Technical Services plants and process areas safely and effectively, ensuring the best possible plant performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Run equipment and plant in Technical Services process areas in line with VPO standards.
- Monitor, improve, and stabilize plant and process performance where needed.
- Operate the Technical Services plant and related process activities.
- Supply utilities to departments according to the required standards.
- Carry out housekeeping duties, apply 5S practices, and follow safe working procedures.
- Identify unsafe work practices and take steps to correct them.
- Help develop standard work procedures, including quick-fix routines and problem-solving methods.
- Perform required quality checks and analyses, then record outcomes in the relevant system.
- Use appropriate problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys and quick-fix routines when quality issues occur.
- Escalate unresolved or identified issues to the line manager.
- Take part in meetings and PI reviews.
- Understand team objectives and contribute to goal review discussions.
- Use communication tools such as the shift logbook to stay updated and keep others informed.
- Complete shift handovers thoroughly, including any plant performance or quality issues.
- Carry out autonomous operations tasks and participate in problem-solving activities.
Requirements
- A diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 9 months of on-the-job training.
- Prior exposure to the FMCG industry is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of VPO principles.
