Role overview

Handshake is looking for experienced professionals who use technical design tools to support an AI research initiative. In this role, you will apply practical domain knowledge to help improve how AI systems interpret and handle real-world work tasks in your area of expertise. The program operates throughout the year, with new project openings appearing from time to time across different specialties.

Work style and project setup

• This is a remote, asynchronous position, so you can complete work independently from any location.
• Hours are flexible, and there is no fixed minimum time commitment.
• Project assignments depend on availability, and placement is not guaranteed at every point in time.
• Work may include creating domain-focused prompts and reviewing outputs generated by large language models.
• You may also gain exposure to new skills while contributing to AI work across multiple disciplines.

Experience and tool requirements

• You should have at least 1 year of professional experience using one or more relevant technical design tools.
• Relevant tools include GIMP, Inkscape, Krita, LibreSprite, FreeCAD, AutoCAD Mechanical, Autodesk Inventor Pro, KiCAD, Vectorworks, Rhino 3D, and similar software.
• You must be comfortable collaborating asynchronously with AI research teams.
