Role Overview
This position is for an Accountant based in Al Khobar, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting statutory compliance, handling reconciliations, assisting with closing activities, and contributing to financial reporting and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep the general ledger current and accurate by recording and classifying all financial transactions, including journal entries, receipts, and payments.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable tasks such as reviewing vendor invoices, checking payment approvals, processing outgoing payments, and monitoring overdue receivables for collection follow-up.
- Carry out monthly bank reconciliations, intercompany account matching, and subsidiary ledger checks to identify and fix differences.
- Support VAT return preparation and submission on a quarterly or monthly basis in line with ZATCA requirements, and make sure e-invoicing rules are followed.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare draft balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports for management review.
- Provide supporting documents, schedules, and analysis to external and internal auditors during annual audits.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of solid experience in accounting, preferably in professional services, engineering consultancy, or corporate settings in Saudi Arabia.
- Registration with SOCPA is strongly preferred and may be required.
- Progress toward CPA, CMA, or ACCA qualification is considered an advantage.
