Role overview

This position is for an Adjuster based in Al Bateen, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with work carried out on site. The role sits within the installation and service environment for elevators and escalators and involves verifying safety, completing mechanical and electrical adjustments, and supporting final inspection activities.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out safety inspections at the work site before starting any task at the customer location.
• Clean, lubricate, and test the overspeed governor.
• Review unit balance and, under the direction of a Senior Adjustor/Adjustor, correct counterweight over-balance and fine-tune final limits.
• Lubricate the safety action mechanism and verify its operation using the prescribed procedure.
• Support the fitting of door skates and the setting of door locks while operating the product in inspection mode and checking each landing for proper bolt and fastener tightness.
• Inspect the car top and shaft travel path to confirm there is no interference between moving components, the cabin, the counterweight, or other equipment.
• Check electrical functions of the unit, including the car door, push buttons, and intercom system.
• Escalate site concerns to the Supervisor, including NCR completion, process deviations, and safety-related issues.
• Set controller contact parameters and return the lift to normal operating mode.
• Adjust acceleration, deceleration, and ride quality in line with OTIS standards and technical manuals.
• Inspect the motor pit and escalator steps for construction debris and clean them when required, following safety rules.
• Test the escalator by removing the comb at both ends, using hand winding for one full travel cycle, and confirming there are no obstructions that could harm the steps or handrails.
• Prepare the new installation inspection report, field test data report, safety check report, and OTIS safety audit documentation.
