About Yachad and The Orthodox Union
Yachad, a division of The Orthodox Union, is dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, and learning disabilities. As the nation's largest Orthodox Jewish organization, the OU strives to foster fuller participation in Jewish life and society by providing opportunities in education, employment, and relationships for these individuals. The Orthodox Union, established in 1898, is a prominent organization supporting a wide array of initiatives including synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy, programs for the disabled, local religious study, and international units. The OU also operates a widely recognized kosher certification service.
Position Summary
The Administrative Coordinator will be instrumental in organizing and streamlining summer department operations to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. This role involves consistent communication, collaboration with office staff and interns, and meticulous maintenance of office records. The position also functions as a key assistant to the full-time summer department staff, offering robust support through managing requests, handling calls, coordinating meetings, and preparing correspondence. A high degree of organization and a personable demeanor are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain departmental operations and procedures.
- Manage the primary summer department phone line.
- Monitor and manage multiple email inboxes, including two significant departmental inboxes and a personal inbox.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to families and staff.
- Facilitate the summer staff contract process.
- Act as a liaison with other departments within the agency.
- Prepare various documents and execute mass email communications as required.
- Uphold a professional demeanor and demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service.
Additional Responsibilities
- Undertake other related duties as assigned.
- Be available for occasional late-night work and travel as needed.
- Attend one weekend conference annually.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Jewish Summer Camps is advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $45,000 to $55,000 annually, with the final offer determined by relevant experience.
