Customer Delivery Driver

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, delivering their shopping and providing excellent service with a friendly demeanor. This is a hands-on, dynamic role that involves independent work with the support of a dedicated team. Each day offers new experiences, ensuring no two shifts are the same.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of your van, delivery trays, and workspace to ensure customer orders are delivered in pristine condition.
• Safely load the van and conduct all necessary checks to confirm roadworthiness and readiness for deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding any order discrepancies, substitutions, or short-dated items, offering refunds as needed to ensure a smooth transaction.
• Handle all products with utmost care, treating each order with the same attention as if it were your own to uphold quality and customer trust.
• Ensure timely delivery within the allocated customer time slots, providing a warm and professional service at the doorstep to make customers feel valued.

Requirements

• Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for a minimum of 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Demonstrate the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, fostering a positive team spirit to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Exhibit a warm, welcoming, and approachable attitude towards both customers and colleagues.
• Be adaptable and responsive to evolving customer needs, embracing changes that may occur during shifts.

Additional Information

Availability Window:

• Sunday: 08:00 - 18:00
• Monday: 18:00 - 23:00
• Thursday: 17:30 - 23:00
• Friday: 18:00 - 23:00

Pay:

Customer Delivery Driver pay starts at £14.18 per hour, increasing to £15.45 per hour for roles within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. A minimum of 16 hours per week is guaranteed, with roles of 12 hours also available.
