Role Summary
This full-time data entry role supports the daily operations of Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Company. The position focuses on entering, checking, and updating records accurately, while also handling routine office work and helping maintain established data entry processes.
Work Location
This is an in-office position based in Covington, Louisiana.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter and record incoming checks along with other electronic payment types.
- Process data for incoming factoring schedules.
- Support written and verbal invoice verification, including faxed and certified mail communications, while keeping records organized.
- Assist with written notices to debtors sent by fax or certified mail and maintain related files.
- Help clients with research requests and other needs.
- Answer phone calls when needed.
- Contribute to reports and assigned projects.
- Carry out other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is needed. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred, and the posting notes 3 years of relevant experience as preferred. It also states that prior job experience is required, with a minimum of 4 years unless the applicant has a college degree.
Candidates should have strong phone manners, clear communication skills, solid customer service ability, and professional written and verbal communication. The role also calls for the ability to manage several tasks at once, work accurately with details, and type efficiently on a computer.
Tools, Skills, and Work Style
The position requires proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook. Applicants should also be comfortable using office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and calculators, and should be able to work professionally with clients and colleagues. Basic to intermediate math ability is needed.
Mental and Physical Requirements
The job may involve travel if necessary to perform essential duties, working under pressure, meeting deadlines, reading and interpreting documents, sitting for long periods at a desk, and using a computer extensively. The role may also require lifting, moving, or carrying about 15 pounds when needed, unless a reasonable accommodation can be made without undue hardship.
