About the Role

Because of a strong workload and significant opportunities across the country, the National Dams & Hydropower team is hiring an Engineer – Dams for the Brisbane office. The position offers the chance to work alongside senior specialists on local, national, and ANZ projects involving complex and high-profile dam and hydropower assets.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute to the design and assessment of water dams while supporting senior engineers through different stages of project delivery.

  • Assist senior engineers with conceptual and detailed design work for water dams.
  • Take part in dam safety reviews, site inspections, and condition evaluations.
  • Make sure analysis and design outputs align with technical standards, client expectations, and the company’s quality processes.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues and stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely, high-quality project results.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering background, relevant experience, and a collaborative attitude.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a higher qualification.
  • At least 2 years of post-graduate experience across different dam types.
  • Understanding of Australian Standards and ANCOLD guidelines.
  • A proactive, positive mindset and willingness to take initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
