Role overview
A growing B2B media company is looking for an Events Manager to take charge of executive leadership summits held across key U.S. cities. The position involves planning and delivering roughly 18 to 19 summits every year in markets such as Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, and Tampa. Responsibilities span venue sourcing, coordination with vendors and sponsors, budget tracking, attendee journey planning, and on-site delivery. You will work closely with Sales, Editorial, and Marketing, and report directly to the CEO.
This is a high-visibility leadership opportunity with the chance to influence the company’s event strategy and build a team within the first year.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of 18 to 19 executive summits each year.
- Handle venue research and booking, vendor management, sponsor coordination, budget control, and event-day logistics.
- Manage registration processes, RSVP tracking, and the overall attendee experience.
- Address live event challenges quickly and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Work in close partnership with Sales, Editorial, and Digital Marketing teams.
- Travel for approximately 12 to 13 events annually across major U.S. locations.
- Help create and grow an events team within 6 to 12 months.
Requirements
- 4 to 7 years of experience in in-house event management.
- Demonstrated ownership of complete event execution from planning through delivery.
- Hands-on experience with vendors, budgets, sponsors, and logistics.
- Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, founder-led setup.
- Must be based in Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, Charlotte, or Dallas.
Why this role stands out
- Opportunity to build the events function from the ground up.
- Freedom to refresh event formats and attendee experiences creatively.
- Direct exposure to senior leadership.
- Remote setup with travel to prominent U.S. markets.
- Competitive compensation package with base pay, performance bonus, and company bonus.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401(k) match.
- Paid time off, including birthday PTO.
- Parental leave.
- Early summer Fridays.
Additional information
The role is remote but requires travel to events in major U.S. markets. The company expects the selected hire to help shape the future of its events strategy and potentially recruit and lead an events team within the first year.
