Role overview
One Federal Solution is looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to support a Department of State customer within the Office of Emergency Management. In this role, you will help keep classified facilities running safely and efficiently by coordinating maintenance, facility operations, logistics, and physical security support. The position plays an important part in preserving mission readiness and continuity of operations.
What you will do
- Oversee host-managed facility engineering, maintenance, and installation work, including HVAC, electrical power, UPS and battery backup systems, plumbing, and security infrastructure in secure facilities.
- Coordinate escorts for contractors and maintenance staff working inside protected government spaces.
- Carry out daily facility inspections and brief government leadership on repair needs, maintenance priorities, and upcoming inspections.
- Evaluate, prioritize, open, and track service tickets and work orders from request to closure.
- Manage maintenance materials, PPE stock, and the disposal of surplus equipment and records in line with department procedures.
- Help plan, coordinate, and monitor installation of physical security countermeasures across OEM facilities.
- Assist with physical access control and enforcement of department security standards for classified environments.
- Support conferences, meetings, forums, and working groups that involve more than 60 interagency departments and agencies.
- Supervise custodial activities so the facility stays clean, secure, and fully operational.
- Handle logistics and warehouse functions such as shipping, receiving, inventory tracking, replenishment, warehouse organization, space planning, and forklift use.
- Provide facility and logistics support during emergency response operations, National Special Security Events, and other contingency situations that require round-the-clock coverage.
- Assist with National Continuity Program deployment and operations at alternate locations, including authorized use of government vehicles.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI access.
- Practical understanding of facility management, continuity operations, logistics support, and administrative processes.
- Background coordinating building maintenance, work orders, contractor activity, and overall facility operations.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, UPS/battery backup systems, and building infrastructure.
- Understanding of physical security concepts, practices, and countermeasures used in federal facilities.
- Familiarity with Department of State and FEMA guidance related to facility security and emergency management.
- Experience in logistics, warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and supply handling.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work well with others.
- Comfort using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database tools.
- Ability to juggle several priorities while staying accurate and detail-oriented.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license is required and must be maintained.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds without help.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and provide 24/7 contingency support when needed.
Preferred background
- Prior experience supporting the U.S. Department of State or another federal agency in a secure facility.
- Exposure to National Continuity Program work or emergency management operations.
- Experience with physical access control systems and classified facility environments.
- Forklift operating experience in warehouse or logistics settings.
