Role overview
This position leads finance operations for the business, with responsibility for budgeting, accounting, cash flow oversight, reporting, controls, risk handling, and team development. The role is based in Bengaluru and supports financial discipline across departments and projects.
Key responsibilities
- Support the creation of annual budgets and ensure each business, department, or project follows the approved budget plan.
- Oversee financial accounting and cash flow activities in SAP, including support for system processes used in development and maintenance.
- Strengthen internal controls and checks, and help resolve accounting issues while staying aligned with accounting policies and standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors, as well as corporate accounts and taxation teams, to support smooth audits and compliance work.
- Track cash flows, conduct periodic reviews, and ensure quarterly and annual accounts are closed accurately and on time.
- Release performance reports in a timely manner for management review.
- Review schedules related to the Profit and Loss Account and Balance Sheet to support decision-making and accurate reporting.
- Prepare monthly performance updates for management and assess financial ratios to identify improvements where needed.
- Monitor capex budgets, approvals, utilization, and post-investment reviews, including tracking plan versus actuals, delays, overruns, and ROI deviations.
- Manage working capital by monitoring collections and receivables, optimizing vendor credit, reviewing sales over-invoicing, releasing funds tied up in current assets, and preparing monthly cash budgets.
- Handle financial and execution risks, including country clearances, forex exposure, and commodity risk, and support hedging activity where required.
- Interact with customs, GST, and tax authorities for assessments, and work with clients, vendors, and bankers on contractual, commercial, and financing matters.
- Build and develop a capable Finance, Accounts, and Administration team that can support business growth.
