Role overview
The Inventory Planning Analyst is responsible for planning and executing inventory levels across channels, including stores and e-commerce, with a strong focus on store-level and size-level optimization. The goal is to improve sales, margin, and inventory productivity while aligning allocation decisions with the merchant vision and financial plan for the product areas owned by the role.
This position works closely with teams across the business, including merchandise planning, merchandising, distribution center and store operations, location planning, and field teams.
Key impact areas
- Use business analysis to support location-based strategies that improve sales, margin, and inventory productivity, including collaboration on store, tier, region, and climate opportunities.
- In selected brands, oversee inventory for long-life replenishment programs by building stock models, planning buys, and managing inventory against sales and receipt plans.
- Lead reviews of allocation approaches for each floor set.
- Own size analysis, future buy recommendations, and pre-season size profiling reviews.
- Work with merchant and merchandise planning partners to shape future business direction.
- Prepare and publish hindsight reviews for each business cycle, such as floor set, quarter, or season, and identify ways to improve sales and margin.
- Deliver analytics to meet the needs of internal partners across headquarters and field teams.
- Actively pursue mentoring and training that supports ongoing professional growth.
What you will need
The role calls for a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, statistics, operations, engineering, supply chain, or fashion, along with 1 to 3 years of experience in allocation and business analytics.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are important, as is the ability to work with diverse teams and adapt quickly in a changing environment. Candidates should be proactive problem solvers who can recommend solutions, make decisions with limited information, and maintain a continuous-improvement mindset.
Analytical strength and financial understanding are essential, including the ability to interpret quantitative data and use it to influence decisions that drive profitable outcomes. The role also requires confidence with technology and the ability to learn and apply new systems quickly.

The position uses tools and platforms such as JDA, Arthur Allocation, E3, Oracle, SAP Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
