LionsBot is looking for a resourceful and technically strong Lead Mechanical Engineer to help shape the next generation of autonomous cleaning robots. This position calls for someone who can think strategically, work across functions, and communicate effectively with both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders. What You Will Do

• Design and deliver solutions for complex mechanical challenges in a fully autonomous cleaning robot.
• Guide a team of design engineers working on robotic hardware, while keeping delivery on schedule and aligned with quality expectations.
• Own the complete design cycle, from early concepts and prototypes through testing and final release.
• Build quick prototypes using methods such as 3D printing, laser cutting, and sheet metal fabrication to assess and compare ideas.
• Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ensure smooth hardware integration.
• Study product needs and technical constraints in depth, balancing function, manufacturability, and cost.
• Use CAD and related design tools to prepare accurate 3D models and engineering drawings.
• Oversee preparation of technical documentation needed for a smooth move into production.
• Maintain complete engineering records, including drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
• Carry out risk analysis and define mitigation measures to reduce design issues and improve safety and reliability.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to identify suitable parts, confirm build feasibility, and ensure design compliance.
• Stay current on robotics hardware trends and apply useful innovations to product development.
• Support production teams during manufacturing and troubleshooting so that assembly runs successfully.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 to 5 years of experience in product management, design engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong background in product development and familiarity with methods such as Agile, Stage-Gate, Lean Product Development, and Design Thinking.
• Practical ability to create rapid, low-fidelity prototypes, including 3D-printed models, to validate concepts.
• Hands-on proficiency with SolidWorks.
• Experience with new product introduction, including defining, managing, or launching new features in a technology environment.
• Preferred background in operational rollout of hardware or robotic products.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing approaches, and material selection.
• Ability to choose plastics and metals based on manufacturability, cost efficiency, corrosion resistance, and UL-94 flame requirements.
• Exposure to vendor sourcing and supplier qualification using methods such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, APQP, and PPAP.
• Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving ability, including the use of DFMEA and root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to connect technical and non-technical teams.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, dynamic, team-based environment while maintaining strong execution standards.
