Role overview

This role focuses on building and improving automation for mainframe operations. The selected candidate will work on routine automation, startup and shutdown flows, product customization, and service improvement through reduced manual effort and stronger error detection.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain automated routines for day-to-day mainframe operations.
• Develop IPL routines along with system startup and shutdown procedures.
• Support upgrades of the CA-OPS/MVS mainframe automation product.
• Customize automation tools to fit operational requirements.
• Work with AOF (Automated Operations Facility), COF (CICS Operation Facility), ECF (Enhanced Console Facility), EPI (External Product Interface), HWS (Hardware Services), IOF (IMS Operations Facility), MSF (Multi-System Facility), OSF (Operator Server Facility), POI (Programmable Operations Interface), RDF (Relational Data Framework), SOF (Switch Operations Facility), and SSM.
• Use automation to improve service quality and reduce manual intervention.
• Strengthen and expand error-capture processes.
• Provide consulting support for mainframe automation using CA-OPS/MVS, Control-M, and TWS/OPC.
• Leverage monitoring platforms such as Tivoli and Sysview as inputs for automated issue resolution.
• Work with BEM and similar interfaces for incident and problem management control.
• Develop and maintain extensive REXX scripts/programs.

Compensation

The role offers an annual salary in the range of INR 9,50,000 to INR 19,50,000.
