About the role
Rural King Farm and Home Store is looking for a Maintenance Associate to help keep the store clean, safe, and well maintained both inside and outside. This role supports a positive shopping environment for customers and a dependable workplace for the team, while contributing to the communities Rural King serves. Key duties
- Carry out routine cleaning and upkeep tasks to maintain store appearance and sanitation standards.
- Use tools and equipment such as mops and floor scrubbers to keep floors clean and safe.
- Remove trash, replace liners, and keep waste areas orderly.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms and break rooms, making sure supplies are available.
- Dust and wipe counters, displays, shelves, and fixtures to keep the store looking organized.
- Handle basic maintenance tasks, including changing bulbs, addressing small plumbing issues, and repairing minor fixture damage.
- Watch for safety concerns, equipment issues, or repair needs and report them to the proper supervisor.
- Support store operations when needed by helping unload trucks, stock merchandise, or zone product.
- Maintain a neat outdoor area, including parking lot cleanliness and trash removal.
- Operate a floor scrubber effectively.
- Take part in cross-training to support flexibility across departments.
- Participate in learning opportunities such as training sessions, workshops, and webinars to continue building skills and knowledge.
- Offer courteous, proactive, and professional support to internal teams and external visitors.

- Complete other duties as assigned.
Supervision
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Candidates should bring strong attention to detail, solid communication skills, customer service ability, and comfort working with computer systems and Microsoft Office. The role also requires the flexibility to work a 40-hour week with changing shifts that may include days, nights, and weekends based on business needs. Experience and skills
The position calls for at least 3 years of retail cashier or retail supervisory experience, or an equivalent mix of experience and education. Applicants should be able to review information carefully, spot inconsistencies, communicate clearly, listen well, and support policy and procedure implementation. Physical expectations include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift, push, and/or pull at least 30 pounds repeatedly and 31-50 pounds occasionally, move throughout all areas of the facility, communicate verbally in person and through electronic devices, and maintain close visual focus for computer-related work.
