Overview

This is a permanent, full-time plasterer position based in Dover, Kent, supporting a responsive repairs programme within occupied social housing homes. The role is practical and varied, with a strong focus on delivering reliable plastering repairs and high-quality finishes while working in residents’ properties.

The successful candidate will be expected to handle day-to-day plastering tasks to a high standard, work neatly and respectfully in lived-in homes, and contribute to maintaining good housing conditions across the contract.

Pay and working pattern

The role offers an hourly rate of up to £15.56. A company van and fuel card are included. Working hours are 42.5 per week, typically from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver plastering repairs in occupied properties as part of a responsive maintenance service.
  • Carry out patch repairs to walls and ceilings after leaks, electrical works, or other trades.
  • Prepare surfaces and apply plaster, bonding, boarding, rendering, and skimming as needed.
  • Restore damaged walls and ceilings through patching or full re-plastering.
  • Complete full skims on walls and ceilings where required.
  • Make good around doors, windows, sockets, and pipework.
  • Prepare surfaces to achieve a smooth, durable finish.
  • Mix and apply plaster using the correct tools and methods.
  • Keep the work area clean and protected, including residents’ belongings and flooring.
  • Work in line with health and safety rules and company standards.
  • Log job information, materials used, and completion notes using a handheld device or job sheet.
  • Maintain a courteous, professional manner in residents’ homes.
  • Flag any additional works, safeguarding matters, or property concerns.
  • Take part in the out-of-hours emergency rota when required.
  • Deliver consistently strong customer care.
