What You Will Do

As a Product Development Manager within our R&D department, you will be instrumental in guiding new products from their initial conception through to their market launch. This is a practical, hands-on role where you will transform innovative ideas into fully formulated and manufacturable products. You will collaborate closely with our internal R&D team as well as external laboratories and manufacturing partners to ensure the successful introduction of effective, compliant, and on-brand products. Your contributions will be vital in a dynamic, team-oriented setting where every individual plays a significant part in shaping our upcoming product releases.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete development lifecycle for assigned products, spanning skincare, hygiene/wipes, towels, baby care, gym/active, and seasonal items, from initial concept to final commercialization.
• Develop detailed product concept briefs that clearly outline performance objectives, technical specifications, material requirements, and budgetary and timeline constraints.
• Lead formulation and product development initiatives in collaboration with internal R&D and external contract manufacturers and laboratories, refining products to meet stringent efficacy, safety, and quality benchmarks.
• Identify and vet suitable substrates, materials, and components that align with product performance goals and the company's commitment to clean ingredients and sustainability.
• Plan, manage, and analyze efficacy and safety testing results; construct and maintain robust claims substantiation based on sound, verifiable data.
• Manage product development through our established stage-gate New Product Development (NPD) process, ensuring all launches adhere to schedule, budget, and quality standards, while providing clear and timely updates to all stakeholders.
• Maintain meticulous and compliant product documentation to support regulatory compliance and facilitate domestic and international product registrations.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Creative, Operations/Supply Chain, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs, as well as external partners, ensuring smooth transitions from concept to production.
• Proactively identify and address potential development risks to safeguard the integrity, safety, and quality of all products.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of product development experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector, with a preference for experience in skincare, beauty, or personal care/hygiene.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in developing formulated consumer products in partnership with external laboratories and contract manufacturers.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; a degree in Chemistry, Biology, Cosmetic Science, or a related scientific discipline is advantageous.
• Familiarity with cosmetic regulatory requirements (such as MOCRA) and claims substantiation practices is highly desirable.
