About the Role

The Production Planner will be responsible for improving manufacturing flow and helping ensure products are completed and delivered on time. This role focuses on building reliable schedules, managing material and capacity needs, and supporting continuous improvement across production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and update production schedules that match customer requirements while making the best use of machines and labour.
  • Work out routing steps and estimate manufacturing times for new parts and products using engineering drawings.
  • Set up and maintain planning processes that support accurate data and effective scheduling.
  • Review machine capacity and labour availability to spot and resolve bottlenecks early.
  • Build and track production metrics that support better decision-making.
  • Partner with procurement and inventory teams to keep materials available and reduce delays.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to solve issues and improve processes.
  • Keep scheduling records, resource allocation details, and inventory information accurate and current.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning and operational efficiency, and lead continuous improvement efforts.

About You

You are an experienced production planning professional who can succeed in a manufacturing, engineering, or machine shop environment. You understand a broad range of production processes, work well under pressure, and bring strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and clear communication. You are comfortable using ERP/MRP tools and production planning software, and you take a proactive approach to improving systems and workflows. Qualifications in planning, scheduling, inventory management, or a related area would be an advantage.
