Role overview
This position sits within the Project Finance US-Canada team in New York and supports the origination, structuring, and execution of project finance transactions. The role calls for close involvement in deal preparation, internal pipeline tracking, and the later stages of executed transactions, including the development of financial models for awarded mandates.
Key responsibilities
- Support senior team members with underwriting, diligence, and financial assessment of project finance opportunities in infrastructure and energy.
- Maintain and help improve internal applications used by product and credit teams.
- Create market-facing materials for client pitches.
- Prepare information memoranda and lender presentations for lead-role opportunities, and help coordinate bank meetings.
- Assist with managing technical and legal diligence, and help guide the structuring process through to closing.
- Track portfolio activity and produce information reports for live transactions and completed deals, including coordination with finance on fee recognition.
- Work with the Madrid team as needed.
- Maintain internal reports and distribute them to the relevant stakeholders.
- Build and refine financial models, review financial statements, and work with derivative instruments.
- Participate in client meetings when possible.
- Support loan closing activities and monitor the closing process.
- Use research resources and internal tools to support transaction work.
- Join due diligence and legal meetings.
Requirements and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 4 years of experience in corporate banking, investment banking, project finance, or in a construction/energy business with project finance exposure.
- Formal credit training is a plus.
- Excellent command of English; Spanish fluency is preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Comfortable working in a team environment and under tight deadlines.
- Solid understanding of financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and DCF analysis.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg is beneficial.

The expected base salary for the New York office is $115,000 to $130,000 per year. Offers are not typically made at the top of the range. Final compensation will depend on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market or organizational factors. The role also includes a generous benefits package and eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
