Role Overview
This position is for a Project Manager based in the United Arab Emirates, focused on delivering nuclear-sector projects in line with strict international standards and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of nuclear projects from launch to final handover, ensuring execution aligns with applicable international nuclear industry standards and regulatory rules.
- Maintain adherence to relevant national regulators, government instructions where relevant, and established workplace, quality, and safety systems such as ISO, ASME, ANSI, and nuclear quality assurance requirements.
- Work closely with engineering teams, contractors, utilities, and regulatory agencies to keep project goals, licensing needs, and safety expectations aligned.
- Build and control project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and risk-reduction actions for complex, tightly regulated assignments.
- Draft technical updates, regulatory submissions, and progress reports for both internal decision-makers and external stakeholders.
- Run project meetings and present clear updates on progress, risks, issues, and follow-up corrective measures.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Nuclear Engineering/Technology, or a closely related discipline is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
At least 5 years of project management experience is needed, ideally gained in nuclear energy, nuclear construction, government nuclear programmes, or other similarly regulated environments.
The role calls for a solid grasp of nuclear regulatory structures, quality assurance and quality control programmes, and core nuclear safety principles.
Applicants should have demonstrated success in managing large, complex projects within highly regulated settings and in collaborating effectively with regulators and multiple stakeholders.
