The Role

As a Purchasing Officer, you will oversee procurement from start to finish, covering sourcing, vendor coordination, contract handling, and purchase order processing. You will partner with teams in Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Finance to make sure buying activities follow company procedures while delivering strong value, quality, and on-time supply. This role suits a procurement professional who can step into a fast-moving manufacturing setting and contribute right away to plant reliability and business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive purchase requisitions and raise purchase orders accurately and without delay.
  • Prepare RFQs for auxiliary raw materials and packaging materials, then lead commercial discussions with suppliers.
  • Manage procurement for production-related auxiliary raw and packaging materials, including ordering, follow-up, and Logistics Invoice Verification (LIV).
  • Identify and assess new suppliers, including coordinating sample testing for review and approval.
  • Track purchase order progress and chase deliveries to keep production running smoothly.
  • Oversee supplier performance and build productive relationships with key vendors and service partners.
  • Work with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, and other functions to clarify procurement needs and delivery timelines.
  • Handle procurement issues independently, such as late deliveries, quality matters, invoice mismatches, and other assigned matters.
  • Keep procurement documentation, contracts, and supplier records updated in line with company processes.

Requirements

  • A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a similar field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant purchasing or procurement experience, ideally in manufacturing, petrochemical, chemical, or industrial environments.
  • Hands-on experience with sourcing, supplier management, contract administration, and commercial negotiation.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or another ERP-based procurement system.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and negotiation skills.
  • Good command of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work on your own, juggle multiple priorities, and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
  • A proactive, dependable team player with high integrity, attention to detail, and a customer-oriented mindset.
