Rust Backend Developer

Role Overview

ESTIDAMA UAE is seeking a Rust Backend Developer to help build fast, reliable backend systems for wallet and payment capabilities in Abu Dhabi.

What You’ll Do

• Create and enhance high-throughput backend services in Rust that support wallet and payment workflows.
• Develop and support customer-facing APIs for account handling, money movement, and live balance synchronization.
• Design systems that can scale well, stay dependable, and respond with very low latency.
• Introduce secure transaction processes for top-ups, transfers, and withdrawals.
• Work closely with mobile, frontend, and product stakeholders to ship features that are useful and easy to use.
• Tune application performance and improve memory usage.
• Apply robust security measures such as encryption, authentication, and fraud prevention controls.
• Take part in architecture reviews, system design discussions, and code review processes.

What You Need

• At least 3 to 7+ years of experience in backend engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Rust.
• Background in developing fast, low-latency applications.
• Exposure to wallet platforms, payment systems, or fintech environments.
• Good grasp of distributed systems, concurrency, and networking concepts.
• Practical experience with REST and/or gRPC APIs.
• Understanding of security standards and controls used in financial software.
