SAP EWM Technical Consultant

Role Overview

This role is for an SAP ABAP professional focused on Extended Warehouse Management (EWM). The position centers on building custom developments, integrations, and enhancements that support warehouse and logistics processes within SAP.

Technical Scope

The work combines classic ABAP development with newer SAP programming approaches for supply chain and warehouse operations. You will contribute to solutions that improve automation, user experience, and process control in EWM.

Core Technical Areas

• BOPF: Used to define business entities, actions, validations, and determinations within EWM customizations.
• Floorplan Manager (FPM): Applied to create and improve custom screens and interfaces, including warehouse management monitor enhancements.
• Object-Oriented ABAP: Required for working effectively with EWM classes, methods, and modular technical solutions.
• Post Processing Framework (PPF): Involved in configuring and coding custom actions and scheduling rules.
• RF Framework: Used for developing, troubleshooting, and enhancing radio-frequency screen flows and mobile warehouse displays.
• BAdIs and Enhancements: Needed to implement custom business rules, packing logic, and automated warehouse strategies such as putaway and picking.

Typical Consultant Background

A strong candidate usually has several years of SAP ABAP experience, has delivered multiple end-to-end implementations, and has worked with both embedded and decentralized EWM landscapes on SAP S/4HANA. Practical exposure to integration technologies such as ALE/IDocs, RFCs, and API-based connectivity is also valuable. Familiarity with modern tools like RAP and SAP Fiori/UI5 is an added advantage.
