Role Overview

This position is for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer focused on site supervision in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires close oversight of electrical works on site, ensuring delivery to design intent, quality expectations, corporate standards, client requirements, and applicable local regulations. The successful candidate will act as the main technical reference for electrical matters, support the project team, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and high-performing work environment throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate all on-site electrical engineering activities so that work aligns with design documents, quality benchmarks, and project timelines.
• Guide, support, and develop the electrical team by providing technical direction, feedback on performance, and opportunities for growth.
• Carry out routine inspections and audits at site to confirm compliance with drawings, safety requirements, and QA/QC procedures.
• Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to settle technical issues, handle variations, and keep construction moving forward.
• Track progress against schedule and budget, identify risks early, and implement corrective measures when needed.
• Produce site reports, technical records, and progress updates for project leadership and client representatives.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and startup of electrical systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and other disciplines to support integrated site execution.
• Keep open communication with project managers, quality teams, and clients on technical matters and overall project status.
• Ensure health and safety practices are built into day-to-day site work in line with company procedures and local rules.
• Support prequalification submissions, RFP responses, and client technical queries with expert input.
• Assess technical issues carefully and develop practical, cost-conscious solutions without compromising project quality.
• Maintain orderly records and make sure all site documentation stays complete, accurate, and easy to retrieve for audits and reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required; a master’s degree is an advantage.
• At least 15 years of professional electrical engineering experience, including a minimum of 5 years in site supervision or on-site project management.
• Proven ability to lead electrical teams and manage relationships with contractors and vendors.
• Hands-on experience with MEP coordination on medium to large projects.
• Strong background in site safety compliance, inspection methods, and health & safety management.
• Experience in project scheduling, progress tracking, and budget control.
• Successful delivery experience in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, is expected.
• Advanced capability in BIM and digital engineering workflows.
• Expert use of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and MS Office tools.
• Knowledge of electrical design software such as Dialux Evo and other calculation tools.
• Ability to perform manual and computer-based calculations, technical analysis, and problem-solving.
• Strong understanding of how to read, interpret, and apply design standards and technical documents.
• Deep knowledge of LV, lighting, ELV, and fire life safety design principles.
• Working knowledge of BS-EN, CIBSE, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards.
• Good familiarity with local authority regulations and submission processes in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East.
• Understanding of constructability, construction methods, and site logistics.
• Awareness of sustainable design approaches and energy-efficient technologies.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC and public health engineering concepts.
• Exposure to QA/QC review procedures and quality management systems.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, organization, analytical thinking, communication, collaboration, decision-making, and adaptability skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and industry best practices.
• Professional Engineering license or equivalent certification is preferred.
• PMP or a comparable project management certification is preferred.
• Health and safety certifications relevant to construction and electrical work are preferred.
• Knowledge of KSA building codes and regulations is preferred.
