Samsara builds a Connected Operations cloud platform that helps organizations running physical operations turn IoT data into practical insights. The organization’s products include video-based safety, vehicle telematics, apps and driver workflows, and equipment monitoring.
As a Senior Technical Recruiter, you will help grow R&D teams, including Software Engineering, Machine Learning, and Product Management. The role emphasizes long-term thinking, high standards, and measurable impact over activity. Success is defined by consistently hiring roughly 3–4 exceptional people each quarter while delivering an excellent candidate experience.
This position is open to candidates based in Canada.
Key responsibilities
You will own full-cycle recruiting for individual contributor and leadership hiring across R&D. You will work closely with senior leaders to understand team goals, shape hiring strategy, and influence both who gets hired and how the search is run. The role also calls for building long-term pipelines through market mapping and proactive engagement, even before roles are open.
You will use creative sourcing methods to reach strong candidates who are not actively on the market, streamline hiring processes by removing friction, and help the team operate collaboratively rather than through rigid ownership. You are also expected to use AI and modern recruiting tools carefully to improve speed and quality without harming the candidate experience.
Experience and qualifications
The role calls for at least 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including responsibility for difficult, high-standard searches across multiple disciplines. You should have a proven history of hiring for technical roles such as Product Managers, Engineers, and Product Designers, and of running searches for senior stakeholders at Director level and above.
Successful candidates will bring a strong partner mindset, use data and insight to raise hiring standards, and have experience recruiting in innovative, high-bar companies. You should also be skilled at outbound recruiting and passive candidate strategies in tight talent markets, and be comfortable navigating ambiguity, pushback, and process risk while keeping quality the top priority. Clear communication and thoughtful use of AI tools are also important.
Compensation and rewards
The annual base salary range for this full-time role is CAD 123,250 to CAD 159,500. Final pay may differ based on location, role-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The position is also eligible for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff, along with ongoing refresh grants tied to performance and plan terms.
