Site Planning Engineer (Procurement)

About the Role

The Site Planning Engineer (Procurement) is crucial for synchronizing the construction timeline with procurement lead times, ensuring the efficient acquisition and delivery of necessary materials and services. This position involves meticulous planning, tracking, and oversight of procurement operations in close collaboration with project execution, warehouse, and vendor management teams. The primary objective is to mitigate project delays stemming from material shortages and to contribute to effective project cost and schedule management.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the creation of a Material Requirements Plan (MRP) that aligns with the construction schedule, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and work sequence for all project trades, including civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and finishing works.
• Collaborate with project execution teams to project short-term and long-term material requirements, utilizing the 3-week/1-month lookahead plan, and ensure timely initiation of procurement requests (PRs).
• Manage and monitor the procurement schedule, encompassing PR/PO creation, expected delivery timelines, shipment status, and actual receipt dates.
• Liaise with the central procurement department, site stores, and suppliers to track material shipments and promptly address any delays that could affect site operations.
• Follow up on essential procurement documentation, such as Purchase Order (PO) copies, delivery challans, material test certificates, inspection reports, and gate entry records.
