Store Manager

Role summary

The Store Manager is responsible for driving store performance, delivering excellent customer service, and making sure the retail team has the guidance, tools, and product knowledge needed to grow sales. The role also requires consistent execution of company and brand operating standards, along with active support for customer loyalty initiatives.

Key objectives

• Support the business in meeting overall targets by ensuring retail staff deliver a high standard of service.
• Put store operating processes into practice in line with company and brand requirements.
• Encourage customers to join and engage with the company’s loyalty programme to help increase repeat business.
• Share staff- and product-related observations with the Area Manager and Operations Manager.

Core responsibilities

• Lead daily, weekly, and monthly sales discussions with the team and keep everyone focused on target achievement.
• Present a polished, fashion-conscious appearance and stay current on product details to help reduce stock shrinkage.
• Keep up with new launches, market trends, and fashion directions so customer needs can be handled proactively.
• Monitor stockrooms carefully and work to keep stock loss to a minimum.
• Ensure all store procedures are followed and that brand as well as company policies are consistently applied.
• Use innovative selling approaches to help the store meet or surpass sales goals.
• Maintain adequate inventory levels to support sales opportunities.
• Review store administrative records weekly and close any gaps or inconsistencies found.
• Handle staff rosters, leave planning, and employee concerns or complaints.
• Keep visual merchandising standards aligned with the company’s VM guidelines at all times.
• Promote the Club Apparel loyalty programme to drive repeat purchases.
• Oversee day-to-day store activity and provide regular feedback on both employees and products to the Area Manager.
• Stay alert to store security requirements at all times and avoid any lapses in vigilance.
• Remain informed about the group’s various brands to support effective suggestive selling.
• Take full ownership of store operations from end to end.
• Be prepared for physically demanding work, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy items.
