Overview
Vesta is building a modern operating system for the mortgage industry, replacing outdated, manual homeownership workflows with a fully digital, automated platform. The business was started by a founding team with deep experience in financial technology, including early work at Blend, where they helped build cloud infrastructure for banks. The team values humility, empathy, self-awareness, and a bias toward action, and is looking for someone excited to help build the hiring foundation for a company that is scaling its technical organization.
Role Summary
As the first Technical Sourcer, you will take ownership of identifying and engaging top candidates for the company’s most important technical positions. This is a proactive talent-finding role that requires original sourcing ideas, strong writing, and the ability to influence candidates in a competitive market.
Responsibilities
- Build talent pipelines through channels beyond LinkedIn, including GitHub, technical communities, niche forums, referral networks, and other underused sources.
- Write tailored outreach that feels personal, persuasive, and relevant to each candidate.
- Represent the company as one of the first points of contact for prospective hires, helping them understand the mission and why the timing is compelling.
- Manage a substantial requisition load while keeping multiple pipelines active and well organized.
- Use tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and recruiting-focused AI products to improve personalization, research, and sourcing speed.
- Work closely with hiring managers to define role expectations and maintain a high hiring bar.
- Monitor sourcing metrics such as channel performance, outreach response rates, and pipeline health to guide effort and prioritization.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in technical sourcing, preferably with a high-growth technology company.
- Demonstrated success using creative, proactive sourcing methods and specific nontraditional channels.
- Ability to handle a high volume of requisitions without sacrificing candidate experience or quality.
- Excellent written communication skills with a talent for concise and compelling outreach.
- Strong comfort level with modern sourcing tools and everyday use of AI in workflow.
- High standards for quality and careful judgment when advancing candidates.
- Ability to work independently and make progress in uncertain or ambiguous situations.

Additional Information
The compensation target for this role is $100,000 to $140,000 in cash compensation, with equity included. Final offers may differ based on experience and expertise.
