What the job involves

You will support the Store Manager in running the station store’s day-to-day operations. The role includes helping with hiring, supervising team members, coordinating daily work, handling bookkeeping tasks, and supporting merchandising activities. A key part of the job is maintaining high service standards and delivering prompt, friendly customer service.

You will also contribute to the food program, making sure it is executed consistently and to a high standard. The position calls for regular, dependable on-site attendance, a strong sense of urgency, patience, and the ability to lead by example.

Preferred background

Retail experience is helpful, as is prior supervisor or management experience. Experience in recruiting, hiring, and interviewing candidates is an advantage, along with food-handling experience. A high school or college degree is also considered beneficial.

Physical requirements

• Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours
• Ability to lift or carry up to 30 pounds from the ground to overhead for up to 30 minutes in a shift
• Occasional lifting or carrying of up to 60 pounds from the ground to waist level
• Ability to push or pull with the arms using up to 20 pounds of force
• Ability to bend at the waist with some twisting for up to one hour per shift
• Ability to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects by hand, with eye-hand coordination; may also require climbing a ladder to store, retrieve, place, or remove materials and signs
