Role Overview
The Chef will be responsible for the smooth running of daily kitchen activities at the Al Waab location. This includes preparing dishes according to standard recipes, overseeing food production, and making sure every plate meets the expected quality and presentation standards.
Key Duties
The position involves updating and planning menus, monitoring stock levels, placing supply orders, and keeping food costs and waste under control. The Chef will also coach and supervise kitchen staff, apply hygiene and food safety rules, and ensure the kitchen remains clean, organized, and efficient. In addition, the role requires working with management on seasonal menus, special events, and incorporating customer feedback into service improvements.
Qualifications
- Solid hands-on expertise in cooking methods, food preparation, and menu creation.
- Practical experience running kitchen operations such as inventory tracking, purchasing, and cost control.
- Ability to lead, train, and encourage a varied kitchen team in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP or similar standards.
- Good time management, strong organization, and careful attention to detail.
- Clear communication and a cooperative approach when working with management and front-of-house teams.
- Prior work as a Chef or Sous Chef in restaurants, hotels, or catering operations.
- A culinary diploma or related professional certification is preferred.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays when the business requires it.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Al Waab, Al Rayyan, Qatar.
