Role overview

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking cleaning operative to support the upkeep of Eastgate Shopping Centre in Inverness. The role is focused on keeping the centre clean, safe, and presentable for shoppers, retailers, and colleagues, while contributing to a professional and welcoming environment.

You will be part of a supportive team delivering both scheduled and responsive cleaning work to maintain excellent standards across the site.

Working pattern and pay

This position follows a 5 days on, 2 days off rota, with 40 hours per week. The pay rate is £13.41 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Keep all areas of the shopping centre to a consistently high cleanliness standard.
  • Clean and disinfect lifts, including stainless steel finishes, doors, frames, runners, and mirrors.
  • Sweep and mop floors across public spaces and back-of-house areas.
  • Clean and sanitise washrooms and staff facilities, and refill consumables when needed.
  • Remove waste and dispose of it according to site procedures.
  • Prepare, use, maintain, and safely store cleaning tools and materials.
  • Monitor assigned areas and take action when additional cleaning is required.
  • Respond quickly to spillages and other reactive cleaning needs.
  • Support team leaders and supervisors in delivering a consistently high standard of service.
  • Complete required training and follow health and safety rules as well as company policies.
