Role Overview
This full-time, onsite Curriculum Developer role focuses on building and improving curriculum units for PK-8 educators and students in line with YES educational philosophies. The position involves shaping curriculum projects from concept to final edits, collaborating with educators and other stakeholders, and helping ensure that educational materials are consistent in style, quality, and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of curriculum units for PK-8 learners by helping define ideas, drafting content, and editing portions of activities.
- Work closely with educators, advisors, and afterschool providers to collect feedback that can be used to refine and strengthen curriculum content.
- Coordinate with external partners such as illustrators, copy editors, and translators to prepare YES units for both print and digital use.
- Help create and refine professional learning and evaluation materials so they remain consistent with the YES philosophy, visual style, and quality expectations.
- Build strong working knowledge of NGSS and other relevant cross-disciplinary standards that guide curriculum design.
- Assist with teacher workshops, institutes, conferences, and outreach programs at the state and national level to promote curriculum resources and increase awareness.
Required Experience and Competencies
- Understanding of educational standards, rubrics, and teaching approaches used in curriculum development.
- Hands-on experience developing and editing STEM curriculum materials for PreK-8 educators.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain ideas clearly.
- Creative thinking and the ability to contribute fresh ideas to product development.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage organized, detail-sensitive work.
- Teaching experience in PreK-8 classroom settings.
Physical and Travel Expectations
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Must be able to travel locally for classroom observations, outreach activities, and meetings, with occasional travel across the country when needed.
- Should be able to move, set up, and transport educational materials and supplies as needed, including lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs and pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs.

Compensation
The stated salary range for this role is USD 60,000 to USD 70,000 per year.
