Role overview
The Demand Planner – Channel Support helps the Category Demand Planning function keep channel forecasts accurate, timely, and aligned with business needs. The position works closely with Merchandising, Finance, Sales Planning, and Supply Chain to support KPI delivery, improve inventory outcomes, and clearly surface risks and upside opportunities.
Core responsibilities
This role combines planning support, reporting, and cross-functional coordination across assigned channels.
- Work with category demand planning teams to review, validate, and steer inputs for the assigned channel(s).
- Assist with translating volume plans into value plans and contribute to related commercial conversations.
- Coordinate demand and supply planning activities so financial and operational plans stay aligned.
- Check assumptions to ensure category inputs are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
- Support bulk uploads into planning systems when required.
- Handle ad hoc questions from demand planners about commercial or financial plans.
- Build, update, and summarize channel-specific reports that support decision-making.
- Compile risks, opportunities, and recommendations for presentation to senior stakeholders.
- Own assigned channel projects that improve planning processes and forecast quality.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Finance, Sales Planning, and Supply Chain teams to align on targets and KPI delivery.
Key performance indicators

- Reduction and optimization of excess inventory
- Availability performance
Required skills and experience

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in SAP environments, using advanced Excel functions, and preparing materials in Microsoft Office applications. Fluency in English is required. A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a similar field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience. Experience in demand planning, inventory management, planning, sales, or supply chain is an advantage, and a background in sporting goods or a similar environment is especially relevant.
Work arrangement
This is a hybrid position based in Portland, Oregon. The standard schedule requires office attendance Monday through Thursday, with Friday offered as a remote day. If the work involves significant collaboration or an in-person presentation, on-site attendance may also be required on Friday.
