Manager - Vessel Performance & Systems

Role overview

This position is focused on supporting vessel performance, planned maintenance system control, and coordination across marine, technical, procurement, and IT functions. The role works closely with fleet management teams to identify improvement opportunities and ensure maintenance and compliance standards are met across the fleet.

Internal coordination

• Work with senior managers, superintendents, fleet managers, ship officers, the IT department, and MPCS to keep vessel systems and maintenance processes aligned.
• Partner with Fleet Managers and the wider ship management team, including marine and technical personnel, to identify and address areas where performance can be improved.

Core duties

• Oversee the Shipnet application and make required adjustments to maintenance schedules in discussion with the relevant managers.
• Audit vessel PMS compliance and ensure corrective actions are identified and followed through.
• Provide technical guidance to the Shipnet IT team for PMS change requests and other modifications through the MSM PMS engineer.
• Review and evaluate contracted bulk spares, stores, and service offerings submitted by the procurement team.

External coordination

• Deal with vendors and service providers for spare parts, services, logistics, and outsourced IT support.

Authority

Managers and supervisors have the authority to stop work whenever health and safety is unsafe or has been compromised.
